A note on privacy

PDFly extracts the PDF text in your browser. To generate the quiz, that extracted text is sent to PDFly's server, which forwards it to Google Gemini. The original PDF file is not uploaded; see the Privacy page for current data-handling details.

How it works

  1. Open PDFly's Generate Quiz tool.
  2. Upload your PDF.
  3. Choose how many questions you want.
  4. The extracted text is sent to PDFly's server, which forwards it to Google Gemini to generate multiple-choice questions.
  5. Copy the quiz from the results panel.

What types of questions?

  • Multiple choice: Questions with 4 answer options labeled A–D.

The tool currently generates multiple-choice questions only.

When to use a PDF quiz generator

  • Education: Create study guides and practice tests.
  • Training: Test employee knowledge after training.
  • Self-study: Test your own understanding of material.
  • Assessment: Create assessments for any subject.

Limitations

  • The extracted document text is capped at 40,000 characters (roughly 10,000 tokens). Longer documents are automatically truncated to the 40,000-character limit before the quiz is generated.
